Scot Drengsen is redefining what the bass can express as a solo instrument. His extended-range playing encompasses remarkable breadth of colour and register, from resonant low sonorities to an unexpectedly lyrical upper range, all shaped with exceptional musicianship and virtuosity.

Seven-String Fretted

James Taylor’s “Fire and Rain” has a special place in my heart, and I was inspired to play it with a seven-string bass. Curious what y’all thinK?

Eight-String Fretless

I don't quite remember when I wrote this (a more layered version is on Bandcamp), but a stripped down late night version seemed just right in the midst of other compositional duties. I hope you can enjoy it for what it is, a spontaneous raw look at a work in progress..

Six-String FretLess

A beautiful raga with a thoughtful, uplifting mood. Wonderful for meditation and beautiful on fretless bass.

Twelve-String Fretless

This is the first of seven in the Ionian Meditation series, exploring the sound of the Western Modes for those eager to explore the music for musical/spiritual/psychedelic purposes.
